Nuclear power plants - Instrumentation and control systems important to safety - Requirements for coping with Common Cause Failure (CCF) (IEC 62340:2007)

Abstract

This standard provides requirements and recommendations for the architecture of I&C systems related to CCF (Common Cause Failure) avoidance. It gives an overview of the complete scope of requirements relevant to CCF, but not to overlap with fields already addressed in other standards (see e.g. DIN EN 60709 (VDE 0491-7), DIN EN 60880 (VDE 0491-3-2) and DIN IEC 61513 (VDE 0491-2)).
