IEC 62153-1-2: Metallic communication cable test methods - Part 1-2: Reflection measurement correction
Abstract
This method refers to reflection measurements on communication cables. Such measurements are necessary to determine the input impedance and the return loss. The method is suitable to correct the measurement data of a reflection measurement affected by a specific parasitic effect. Based on the measurement data only, a calculation is done to correct to correct these data and to oversee the validity of the calculation. As this calculation technique nearly eliminates the influence of connecting hardware it is only useful to be applied to the measurement of cables e.g. during the manufacturing process.
