IEC 61312-3/A1: Requirements of surge protective devices - Annex D: Coordination of SPD within existing structures
Abstract
This amendment supplements the existing Technical report IEC 61312-3, where general principles are shown to achieve an energy co-ordination of Surge Protective Devices (SPDs). These SPDs are installed according to the Lightning Protection Zones Concept given by IEC 61312-1. Possibly, not all requirements of Lightning Protection Zones Concept can be perfectly realised, when SPDs are installed in existing structures. This amendment gives guidelines to apply the methods described in the Technical report IEC 61312-1 also in case of existing structures.
