Basic specification for optical fibre amplifier test methods - Part 4-1: Test methods for analogue parameters - Gain-slope by broad band source test method (IEC 86C/194/NP : 1998)

Abstract

This International Standard applies to Optical Fibre Amplifiers (OFAs) using active fibres, containing rare-earth dopants, presently commercially available. The gain-slope parameter can be used to determine harmonic distortion in analogue (e.g. CATV) systems employing directly modulated lasers.
