Abstract
This International Standard applies to all commercially available optical fibre amplifiers (OA) and subsystems with optical amplification. It applies to optical fibre amplifiers using optically pumped fibres (OFA, based on either rare earth doped fibres or the Raman effect), semiconductors (SOA) and waveguides (POWA).
