Abstract

This Technical Specification provides a set of harmonized terms and definition which should be used in standards incorporating power electronic conversion. This first edition contains a non exhaustive list of terms and definitions for: - Level 0, general terms and definitions as listed in Electropedia and defined by other Technical Committees (TCs), and – Level 1, specific terms and definitions in Electropedia part 551 for power electronics, and which should be added in Electropedia part 551. This document does not contain terms and definitions for: - Level 2, specific terms and definitions for specific Power Electronic Converter Systems (PECS) defined by Subcommittees of Technical Committee TC22, and – Level 3, for application dependent specific terms and definitions defined or used by Subcommittees of Technical Committee TC22. Terms and definitions of level 2 and 3 will be collected and considered in a next edition.
