Ventilation for buildings - Natural and hybrid ventilation systems in non-residential buildings - Design
Abstract
This document applies to the design of natural and hybrid ventilation systems in non-residential buildings to achieve acceptable indoor air quality. This document includes normative aspects that may be considered in the design of a natural and hybrid ventilation system. The document is complementary to EN 16798-3 which applies to the design of the mechanical ventilation system in non-residential buildings and can be used as reference when informatively referring to mechanical ventilation system design. This document is applicable to non-residential buildings subject to human occupancy specified according to the indoor environmental aspects. This document does not consider: • Thermal comfort and overheating, • Health risk from exposure to tobacco smoke, • Applications with industrial processes, • Design of ventilation in residential buildings, • Tools (e.g. computer models) for design and dimensioning of ventilation systems. Design of natural ventilation and natural part of the hybrid systems in relation to thermal comfort are not covered in this document. Reference is made to the CEN/TS Ventilative cooling systems - design. Note 1 to entry Different standards may express the categories for the same parameters in a different way, and also the category symbols may be different.
