Gas infrastructure - Methan leak detection and repair programmes for gas transmission, distribution and storage systems and LNG terminals - Functional requirements

Abstract

This document decribes leak detection and repair programmes (LDAR) for gas transmission, destribution and underground gas storage systems as well as for LNG regasification terminals. Note: The descriptions of programmes are dedicated to each type of infrastructures. This includes - Definition of the applicability perimeter and concerned assets, devices or components - LDAR strategy and general set up for LDAR programs - description of the appropriate procedures, methodologies and equipment for leak detection on-site in complementation with the equipment standards of CEN/TC 264 - repair criteria application as well as repair and monitoring schedule rules - procedures for monitoring and repair efficiency checks - reporting structures - procedures of data analysis for continuous improvement of the LDAR programme. Detection devices specifications are not part of the standard (to be covered under CEN/TC264)
