State of railway vehicles - Basic principles - Part 10: Thermal spraying

Abstract

This standard applies to the special features of thermal spraying in the repair of railroad vehicles. This standard is also applicable to thermal spraying for the production of new wheelset shafts. It specifies the requirements - for the repair of all railroad vehicles and vehicle parts by means of thermal spraying, - for workshops that maintain railroad vehicles by thermal spraying, - for the molybdenum coating of the seats of wheelset shafts is specified. This standard applies to the following spraying processes in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14917: - Wire flame spraying; - Arc spraying; - Powder flame spraying; - Powder flame spraying with simultaneous melting of the spray coating; - Powder flame spraying with subsequent melting of the spray coating. The use of other spraying processes shall be regulated by the customer/ECM on a case-by-case basis.
