Fire behaviour of building materials and building components - Part 1: Building materials, concepts, requirements and tests

Abstract

This standard specifies fire terms, requirements, tests and markings for building materials. The standard applies to the classification of the reaction to fire behavior of building materials to assess the risk as an individual building material and in combination with other building materials. The reaction to fire behavior of building materials is not only influenced by the type of material, but in particular also by the shape, the specific surface and density, the bond with other materials, the fasteners and the processing technology.
