Optical radiation physics and illuminating engineering - Part 100: Melanopic effects of ocular light on human beings - Quantities, symbols and action spectra

Abstract

This document defines the spectral evaluation of optical radiation in the visible range for the evaluation of melanopic light effects. In addition, terms and spectral effects are defined for the characterization of melanopic light effects.
This document provides a unified assessment of light sources and lighting situations, regardless of whether the spectrum of effects provides an accurate description of the melanopic light effects of the optical radiation.
This document also lays down rules on how to proceed to fully describe the exposure of individuals to light in scientific experiments and in practical applications where melanopic light effects are the focus.
