Trustworthy AI Methods in Police Applications

Abstract

This topic is currently available as a request for the development of a DIN SPEC in accordance with the PAS procedure. DIN SPECs are developed by DIN SPEC consortium (temporary committees). In the attached project plan you will find detailed information on the planned project as well as specific deadlines for commenting on the project plan (four-week commenting phase) and for registering for the kick-off meeting. The document will be drafted and approved by the authors named in the project plan. This DIN SPEC is intended to define requirements for trustworthy AI methods in police applications. This includes the technical, legal and ethical requirements for biometric face and speaker recognition, object recognition and text evaluation to show how the accuracy, traceability and robustness of these AI methods can be implemented and optimized in police work. The DIN SPEC will not define safety levels or new ethical values. It is intended to implement and operationalize existing ethical values for trustworthy AI in police applications.
