Pressure resistant circular sight glasses made of thermally toughened borosilicate glass without limitation in the range of low temperature
Abstract
This document is applicable to to thermally prestressed circular sight glass plates made of borosilicate glass with a thickness of at least 6,5 mm, which are permanently or cyclically subjected to liquid or gas pressure acting on one side by liquid or gas pressure at temperatures up to 280 °C without limitation in the low temperature range. For use within the scope of the Pressure Equipment Directive (Directive 2014/68/EU), these sight glass plates are to be regarded as a component of the pressure equipment. The area of application of the sight glass plate is within the area of application of the pressure equipment. Sight glass plates according to this document are suitable for use with hydrogen. This is independent of the respective aggregate state of the hydrogen.
