Local Charging station management systems and Local Energy Management Systems network connectivity and information exchange - Part 3: Communication Protocol and Cybersecurity Specific Aspects
Abstract
This document defines the secure information exchange between Local Charging Station Management Systems (LCSMS), which may be part of charging stations or implemented as separate local (or cloud-based) systems, and local Energy Management Systems/Customer Energy Managers (EMS/CEM) in homes and buildings. It will specify use cases, the sequences of information exchange, the data models and the communication protocols to use and shall cover all aspects of local energy management of charging stations. It will be based on the needs of energy transfer aspects, information exchange and data models defined in the IEC 63110 series, ensuring interoperability of in-building appliances as well as charging stations on the one hand, and local EMS/CEM on the other. This document does not cover the secure information exchange between the charging station and the IT backend system(s), such as the management of energy transfer of the charge session, contractual and billing data, provided by the IT backend. Neither does it cover the information exchange over any other interfaces defined in IEC 63110-1. While IEC 63110-1 covers scenarios where there is a charging infrastructure backend, this document (IEC 63380) will cover cases where such a backend is not involved.
