Mining - Air quality control systems for operator enclosures - Performance requirements and test methods - Amendement 1 (ISO 23875:2021/Amd 1:2022); German and English version EN ISO 23875:2022/prA1:2023

Abstract

Mining activities can generate airborne particulate matter that is hazardous to human health. It is necessary to develop controls that limit operator exposure to airborne particles when operating equipment within the operator's cab. This document addresses air quality issues by establishing parameters for determining the effectiveness of air quality control systems. Control of these air contaminants is achieved through an effective air quality control system, dilution of CO2, routine testing of the air within the operator enclosure and effective maintenance throughout the life cycle of the operator enclosure.
