Separable tube connections for metal gas tubes - Part 1: Connections for tubes with smooth ends

Abstract

This standard specifies the requirements and testing of separable unthreaded pipe connections for metal gas pipes, which can be disconnected exclusively by means of tools and which provide a metallic or non-metallic seal against smooth walls of metallic pipes or other metallic cylindrical construction elements. In addition to the separable unthreaded pipe connections for metal gas pipes, the connections can also have other types of connections, such as threads, flanges, and so on. The connectors can also have different designs. It may also have different designs, such as straight connector, elbow or t-piece, and so on. Different designs may be grouped together with the same design designation. The connectors are suitable for pipes that are operated with gases according to DVGW worksheet G 260 and are separated in three classes (Class A: MOP 5, Class B: MOP 16, Class C: MOP 250) for an operating temperature between -20 °C and +60 °C.
