Information technology - Physical network security for the accommodation of customer premises cabling infrastructure and information technology equipment (ISO/IEC JTC1-SC25/3127/CD:2022)

Abstract

This document specifies requirements and recommendations providing security to the physical network comprising customer premises cabling in accordance with ISO/IEC 11801 series, associated infrastructure and accommodation of information technology equipment. It covers the security of the telecommunications cables, pathways, spaces, and other infrastructure components of the physical infrastructure to protect the telecommunications infrastructure from theft, vandalism, intrusions, and unauthorized modifications. The document addresses a) risk assessment guidelines, b) design (including construction), planning and installation practices based on a required information sensitivity level, c) intrusion detection, d) administration including Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM). This document applies to both existing buildings and structures and those being planned for construction.
