Energy management system application program interface (EMS-API) - Part 301: Common information model (CIM) base (IEC 61970-301:2020 + AMD1:2022); German version EN IEC 61970-301:2020 + A1:2022

Abstract

The Common Information Model (CIM) is an abstract model that represents all important objects in a power supply company that are typically involved in the operation of utilities. By providing a standard method for representing power system resources as object classes and attributes along with their relationships, CIM facilitates the integration and interoperability of network applications, - between entire systems running independently developed network applications, - between a system running network applications, - other systems that deal with different aspects of the operation of energy systems.
