Product standard to demonstrate the compliance of wireless communication devices with the basic restrictions and exposure limit values related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields in the frequency range from 30 MHz to 6 GHz: hand-held and body mounted devices in close proximity to the human body; German version EN 50566:2017 + A1:2023
Abstract
This standard contains the German version of the draft Amendment 1 to European Standard EN 50566:2017 and intends to update the reference to EN 62209-2:2010 into a reference to EN 62209-2:2010/A1:2019 and to add new SAR measurement technique that have been adopted with EN IEC 62209-3:2019. The standard contains requirements related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields from wireless communication devices in the frequency range 30 MHz to 6 GHz. This product standard applies to wireless communication devices that are hand-held or body mounted in close proximity to the human body. The objective of this standard is the demonstration of compliance of the equipment covered by this standard with the basic restrictions (Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)) which are specified for the for safety of the general public in radio-frequency electromagnetic fields and exposure limits which are specified for the for safety of workers.
