Winding wires - Test methods - Part 7: Electrical endurance under high frequency voltage impulses (IEC 55/1638/NP:2018)

Abstract

This International Standard specifies a method for evaluating the electrical endurance under high frequency voltage impulses (or coronal resistance) of winding wire in normal pressure atmosphere by monitoring changes in response to proof voltage. This method applies to the following winding wires: coronal-resistant enamelled round or rectangular wire, class 240 coronal-resistant aromatic polyimide tape wrapped and cured round or rectangular wire, glass-fibre wound and tape wrapped rectangular wire and mica tape wrapped rectangular wire.
