Abstract

DIN EN ISO 21043-5 is part of the five-part DIN EN ISO 21043 series, which covers the various components of the forensic process from the crime scene to the courtroom. This document specifies requirements for reporting of results of forensic examinations to customers. It is applicable to activities that occur at a scene and within a forensic facility. The requirements facilitate the preparation of reports that are impartial, comprehensive, accurate, and reliable. This document also includes quality requirements relating to the review of case records and testimony and requirements for the issue and control of reports. DIN EN ISO 21043-5 was developed by Technical Committee ISO/TC 272 "Forensic sciences" (Secretariat: SA, Australia) in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 419, "Forensic science services" (Secretariat: NEN, Netherlands). The responsible German body is the working committee NA 176-01-05 AA "Forensics/Criminalistics" in the DIN Standards Committee Health Technologies (NAGesuTech).
