Airways and related equipment

Publications Projects

The working committee is responsible for the standardization of airways and related equipment. This includes especially standardization of:

  • tracheal tubes, tracheostomy tubes, oropharyngeal tubes,
  • reservoir bags;
  • suction catheters;
  • breathing tubes;
  • laryngoscopes;
  • passive humidifiers;
  • heat and moisture exchangers;
  • voice prostheses;
  • accessories.

The focus is given on specification of performance of the medical equipment including test methods, design, documentation, marking and labeling as well as information to be provided by the manufacturer.
