Sterile supply
The working committee is responsible for standardization in the fields of:
- packaging for terminally sterilized medical devices including application technology;
- packaging materials for products to be sterilized;
- logistics of sterile medical devices and their quality management for and in healthcare facilities.
Standardization of packaging for terminally sterilized medical devices refers to packaging materials, preformed sterile barrier systems and sterile barrier systems. Specific questions regarding sterilization containers are dealt with in an ad-hoc group. The scope includes the standardization of the development and validation of packaging processes for medical devices, which are to be terminally sterilized.
