DIN EN ISO 21148
Cosmetics - Microbiology - General instructions for microbiological examination (ISO 21148:2017); German version EN ISO 21148:2017

Title (German)

Kosmetische Mittel - Mikrobiologie - Allgemeine Anleitungen zur mikrobiologischen Untersuchung (ISO 21148:2017); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 21148:2017

Overview

This document gives general instructions for carrying out microbiological examinations of cosmetic products, in order to ensure their quality and safety, in accordance with an appropriate risk analysis (for example, low water activity, hydro-alcoholic, extreme pH values). Because of the large variety of products and potential uses within this field of application, these instructions might not be appropriate for some products in every detail (for example, certain water-immiscible products). This document (EN ISO 21148:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 217 "Cosmetics" (secretariat: ISIRI, Iran) in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 392 "Cosmetics", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 057-07-01 AA "Kosmetische Mittel" ("Cosmetics") at DIN Standards Committee Food and Agricultural Products (NAL).
