Overview

This standard specifies how to select the magnification when taking micrographs under the microscope and how to indicate this magnification when storing and using these images in publications. It also provides information on further options, such as the use of metadata, when using digital image processing. This standard has been prepared by NA 062-01-31 AA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss NMP/FES: Metallographische Prüfverfahren" ("Joint Working Committee NMP/FES: Metallographic Testing Methods") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
