Overview

This standard specifies the equations that can be used to calculate the effective core parameters of closed magnetic circuits made of ferromagnetic materials. The purpose of this revision is to give equations by which everyone can calculate the same effective core parameters. On the one hand, it is necessary to have a sufficient number of decimal places when the numerical values are rounded in the course of the calculations. On the other hand, some of the equations have been modified to better describe the actual form. Furthermore, the new "EC core types" have been included in this edition. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic devices and their components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
