Overview

This standard applies to the application and processing of external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) with insulation of expanded polystyrene (EPS) or mineral wool with reinforced base coat and top coat or flat facing brick. This standard contains planning instructions. ETICS with other insulation materials and/or hard claddings are not within the scope of this standard. External thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are used for the thermal insulation of buildings. They protect them against transmission heat losses and the effects of the weather and at the same time serve as a surface finish for buildings. A prerequisite for the application and processing of the external thermal insulation composite system is compliance with the regulations of the applicable state building code. The system-related general building authority approvals or European technical approvals/assessments shall be observed. This standard has been prepared by Working Group NA 002-00-13-01 GAK "Gemeinschaftsarbeitskreis NAB/NABau: Verarbeitungsnorm" ("Joint working group NAB/NABau: Application standard" at DIN Standards Committee Coatings and Coating Materials (NAB).
