Ships and marine technology - Sewage system - Flanges for international discharge connections

Title (German)

Schiffe und Meerestechnik - Abwassersystem - Flansche für internationalen Abwasserabgabeanschluss

Overview

This standard applies to seagoing vessels. Due to international agreements (MARPOL - International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships of 1973, MARPOL 73/788 is also valid worldwide in its 1978 amended version), connections for the discharge of waste water from seagoing ships shall be equipped with a special flange with which a connection can be made to the hose line of the reception facilities on land. This transfer hose line shall therefore also be fitted with this flange at the connection end. These flanges are suitable for permissible operating pressures of up to 6 bar or 0,6 MPa. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 132-02-04 AA "Wasserversorgung und -entsorgung" ("Potable water and drainage systems") at DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT).
