Meter panels - Part 1: General requirements
Zählerplätze - Teil 1: Allgemeine Anforderungen
Overview
This standard applies to meter panels for equipment for power transmission , distribution and measurement in electrical systems for commercial and domestic installations (such as houses, schools , administrative, office buildings and the like) in the indoor and outdoor use, up to a rated voltage of 400 V. Meter panels shall be installed as part of the electrical installation in accordance with DIN VDE 0100. This part of the standard cannot be used alone to define a meter panel or for the purpose of determining conformity. Meter panels shall comply with the applicable part of the DIN 0603 series, from Part 2 upwards. Meter panels in accordance with this standard are suitable for use at the following ambient temperatures: - indoors, not normally exceeding 25 °C, but occasionally reaching 30 °C. - in outdoor areas, not normally exceeding 35 °C, but occasionally reaching 40 °C. Thermal effects due to direct sunlight are not considered in this standard. This standard does not apply to enclosures for housing protective devices and similar energy-consuming devices in accordance with DIN EN 60670-24. This standard does not apply to a low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assembly as defined in the DIN EN 61439 series of standards. However, for the accommodation of electrical measuring equipment for the metering point or grid operator in low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies in accordance with DIN EN 61439, the corresponding functional areas with their requirements and the meter panel depth shall be provided as a minimum dimension from this standard.
