DIN 55673
Paints, varnishes and their raw materials - Analysis by near infrared spectrometry - General working principles

Title (German)

Beschichtungsstoffe und deren Rohstoffe - Nahinfrarotspektrometrische Analyse - Allgemeine Arbeitsgrundlagen

Overview

The standard provides guidelines for near-infrared spectrometry (NIR spectrometry) for the testing of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products of paints, varnishes and similar coating materials. These guidelines also apply to the use of NIR spectrometry in process control, both offline in the laboratory and inline using process analytical techniques. The standard covers the common working techniques of near infrared spectrometry for identity verification, classification and quantitative determination of composition and chemical-physical parameters. The aim of the standard is to define the working techniques for near-infrared spectrometric analysis (NIR analysis). The standard DIN 55673 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 002-00-02 AA "Lackrohstoffe" ("Raw materials for paints and varnishes") at DIN Standards Committee Coatings and Coating Materials (NAB).
