Activity measurement methods for the clearance of radioactive substances and nuclear facility components - Part 7: Ground surfaces and excavated soil

Title (German)

Aktivitätsmessverfahren für die Freigabe von radioaktiven Stoffen und kerntechnischen Anlagenteilen - Teil 7: Bodenflächen und Bodenaushub

Overview

This standard applies to activity measurement methods for the clearance measurement of activated or contaminated soil areas in accordance with Section 29 of the German Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV) for areas of the plant premises not covered by buildings and for activated or contaminated excavated soil. The standard does not apply to activity measurements in the context of interventions. The standard does not apply to plant areas in which activity from the operation of the plant has penetrated into groundwater-bearing layers in radiologically significant quantities. This standard provides the licensee, the expert and the competent authority with uniform requirements for the determination of the activity when approving land areas and excavated soil of nuclear facilities for which a subsequent use outside a nuclear license is intended. The committee NA 062-07-46 AA "Reststofffragen" ("Questions concerning residues") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP) is responsible for this document.
