DIN 14425
Firefighting and fire protection - Portable submersible pumps with electrical motor
Feuerwehrwesen - Tragbare Tauchmotorpumpen mit Elektroantrieb
Overview
Portable submersible pumps with electrical motor (referred to as submersible pumps (TP) for short) are primarily used for pumping water in drainage applications, either as feeder pumps for centrifugal fire pumps or for pumping out flooded rooms, such as cellars or excavation pits. For the purposes of this standard, water also includes waste water (for example, contaminated with solids or oil). The standard has been revised to bring the technical content up to date, including - conformity assessment requirement by an officially recognized testing body has been dropped because its legal basis, the "Administrative agreement between the states of the Federal Republic of Germany on the testing and approval of fire extinguishing agents, firefighting appliances and equipment", no longer exists; - test number for marking has been dropped because the officially recognized testing body no longer exists; - material requirements for impeller and guide wheel extended; - the requirement that the protective device in the motor shall switch the motor back on automatically after the overload has ceased has been removed; - former Annex C with the connection between this standard and the essential requirements of the EU Directive has been omitted for formal reasons; - normative references and bibliography updated. Some clauses of the standard contain safety-related specifications in accordance with the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG). This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-04-05 AA "Feuerlöschpumpen - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 2" ("Firefighting pumps - mirror committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 2") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
