Overview
This standard contains the specification of an on-board multimedia system with the aim of interoperability between multimedia and telematics subsystems in the vehicle and applies to all train types. It includes the categories video surveillance/CCTV, driver and crew-oriented services, passenger-oriented services as well as train operator and maintenance staff-oriented services. The standard contains a limitation to the IEC 61375 series of standards, a procedure for the abstract model description of an on-board multimedia and telematics subsystem, the requirements for the services provided or required, an approach for ensuring interoperability between services. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 351.1 "Fahrzeuge" ("Rolling stock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
