DIN EN 15961
Fertilizers - Extraction of water-soluble calcium, magnesium, sodium and sulfur in the form of sulfates; German version EN 15961:2017

Title (German)

Düngemittel - Extraktion von wasserlöslichem Calcium, Magnesium und Natrium sowie von Schwefel in Form von Sulfat; Deutsche Fassung EN 15961:2017

Overview

This European Standard specifies a method for the extraction of water-soluble calcium, magnesium, sodium and sulfur (in the form of sulfates), so that the same extract can be used for the determination of each nutrient required. The method is applicable to all mineral fertilizers for which Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 requires the declaration of the water-soluble calcium, magnesium, sodium, and sulfur (in the form of sulfates). This standard contains the revised version of the first edition of 2012. The procedure for the preparation of the test solution described in 8.2 has been changed during the revision. Among other things, the requirement that the cooled solution may only be further processed after a retention time of 24 hours has been added. The standard has been prepared in CEN/TC 260 "Fertilizers and lime fertilizers" (secretariat: DIN). National mirroring took place at Working Committee NA 057-03-02 AA "Düngemittel" ("Fertilizers") at DIN Standards Committee Food and Agricultural Products (NAL).
