Geotechnical investigation and testing - Laboratory testing of soil - Part 5: Incremental loading oedometer test (ISO 17892-5:2017); German version EN ISO 17892-5:2017

Title (German)

Geotechnische Erkundung und Untersuchung - Laborversuche an Bodenproben - Teil 5: Ödometerversuch mit stufenweiser Belastung (ISO 17892-5:2017); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 17892-5:2017

Overview

This document applies to the determination of the behavior of soil under compression, swelling and consolidation. The cylindrical, laterally restrained test specimen is axially loaded or unloaded in steps vertically and can drain axially to the end faces. The main parameters derived from the oedometer test relate to the compressibility and rate of primary consolidation of the soil. Estimates of the pre-consolidation pressure, the rate of secondary compression and the swelling behavior are also possible in some cases. The responsible committee for this standard is NA 005-05-03 AA "Baugrund; Laborversuche (SpA zu CEN/TC 341/WG 6)" ("Soil, laboratory tests (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 341/WG 6)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
