Overview
This blank detail specification forms the basis for a uniform procedure for a common International Safety Mark. It implements the approval schedule for safety tests in IEC 60384-14 and requires a declaration of design for parameters relevant to safety and indicates conformance tests to be conducted on every lot prior to its release and requalification tests depending on changes to the declared design. This specification offers the assessment level DZ (zero defects). The use of this document may be more appropriate for components manufactured in mass production, whereas the employment of t IEC 60384-14-2 (safety tests only) may be necessary in those cases where approval and requalification tests contribute considerably to the costs of the product. A blank detail specification is a supplementary document to the sectional specification and contains requirements for style, layout and minimum content of detail specifications. Detail specifications not complying with these requirements may not be considered as being in accordance with IEC specifications, nor should they so be described. In the preparation of detail specifications the content of the sectional specification should be taken into account. Normative Annex A contains the declaration of design, which is to be treated confidentially between the manufacturer and the certifying institute. The purpose of this description is to specify essential data and the basic structure of the capacitors for which approval is sought. The completed form shall be submitted to the certifying institute prior to the start of the approval tests; the manufacturer reserves the right to pass it on to third parties. Changes to the declaration of design are only permitted after written notification of the certifying institute. In such cases the certifying institute decides on necessary steps. It may be necessary to repeat the entire approval test. The responsible committee is DKE/K 623 "Funk-Entstörmittel" ("Capacitors and resistors for electronic equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
