Testing of carbonaceous materials - Determination of thermal diffusity at high temperatures by the laser pulse method - Solid materials

Title (German)

Prüfung von Kohlenstoffmaterialien - Bestimmung der Temperaturleitfähigkeit bei hohen Temperaturen nach dem Laser-Impuls-Verfahren - Feststoffe

Overview

This standard specifies a method for determining the thermal diffusivity of specimens of carbon and graphite materials (solids) between 1 mm2/s and 300 mm2/s at temperatures from room temperature to 2 500 °C. The thermal diffusivity is required for the description of transient thermal transports. It enables the thermal conductivity at high temperatures to be determined quickly, provided that the bulk density and specific heat capacity of the material are known. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 062-02-81 AA "Prüfverfahren für Kohlenstoff und Graphit" ("Testing of carbonaceous materials") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
