DIN EN 62570
Standard practice for marking medical devices and other items for safety in the magnetic resonance environment (IEC 62570:2014); German version EN 62570:2015
Standardverfahren für die Kennzeichnung medizinischer Geräte und anderer Gegenstände zur Sicherheit in der Umgebung von Magnetresonanzeinrichtungen (IEC 62570:2014); Deutsche Fassung EN 62570:2015
Overview
The International Standard has been prepared in IEC/TC 62/SC 62B "Diagnostic imaging equipment". In the vicinity of magnetic resonance (MR) equipment, interactions between fields and objects can cause serious injury to patients, medical personnel, or others within the controlled area of an MR facility. This standard establishes a uniform marking practice that indicates potential hazards in the vicinity of MR DEVICES (labeling standard). The standard prescribes simple graphical symbols and terms intended to prevent injuries and other incidents. This standard deals only with the marking of items. Malfunctions that lead to image quality degradation or artifacts are not considered in this standard. This standard is intended for users of MR equipment and manufacturers or suppliers of items to be used in the MR environment. The committee responsible for this standard is DIN Standards Committee NA 080-00-18 GA Gemeinschaftsausschuss NAR/DKE "Magnetresonanzverfahren" (Joint Committee NAR/DKE "Magnetic resonance methods") in collaboration with Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft (German Radiological Society) and in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nuklearmedizin e. V. (DGN) (German Society of Nuclear Medicine), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Medizinische Physik e. V. (DGMP) (German Society for Medical Physics) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Radioonkologie e. V. (DEGRO) (German Society for Radio Oncology).
