DIN EN 1253-3
Gullies for buildings - Part 3: Evaluation of conformity; German version EN 1253-3:2016
Abläufe für Gebäude - Teil 3: Bewertung der Konformität; Deutsche Fassung EN 1253-3:2016
Overview
The revision of this standard became necessary due to the introduction of the new standards for floor gullies with traps with a water seal depth of at least 50 mm (EN 1253-1), for roof drains and floor gullies without traps (EN 1253-2) and covers (EN 1253-4) on the one hand, and changes in points to be inspected and monitoring frequency for specific requirements on the other hand. Conformity is assessed in two steps: type testing and factory production control. During type testing, all relevant requirements for the products shall be met in accordance with the product specifications. The aim of factory production control is to continuously ensure that the current production of floor gullies, roof drains and covers conforms to the technical requirements of these same product specifications. The objective of the optional third party monitoring is to demonstrate the manufacturer's ability to produce products that continuously meet the requirements of the product specifications and thus to award independent certification to these products. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 119-05-11 AA "Ablaufgarnituren, Abläufe, Rückstauverschlüsse und Belüftungsventile für die Verwendung innerhalb von Gebäuden (CEN/TC 165/WG 11)" ("Waste fittings, drains, anti-flooding devices and air vents for use inside buildings (CEN/TC 165/WG 11)") at DIN Standards Committee Water Practice (NAW).
