Title (German)

Errichten von Niederspannungsanlagen - Teil 7-718: Anforderungen für Betriebsstätten, Räume und Anlagen besonderer Art - Öffentliche Einrichtungen und Arbeitsstätten; Beiblatt 1: Erläuterungen zur Anwendung der normativen Anforderungen aus DIN VDE 0100-718 (VDE 0100-718):2014-06

Overview

DIN VDE 0100-718 (VDE 0100-718):2014-06, Subclause 718.512.2.1 requires that the enclosures of distribution boards shall be made of sheet steel for protection against mechanical hazards. However, it is not the material of the enclosure that is critical for mechanical protection while maintaining the protection objective of a distribution board, but rather the mechanical stability. This Supplement provides information on the mechanical requirements for the enclosures of distribution boards. The committee responsible for this standard is DKE/UK 221.3 "Bauliche Anlagen für Menschenansammlungen" ("Installations for gathering of people") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
