DIN EN 1453-1
Plastics piping systems with structured-wall pipes for soil and waste discharge (low and high temperature) inside buildings - Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) - Part 1: Specifications for pipes and the system; German version EN 1453-1:2017 + AC:2017
Kunststoff-Rohrleitungssysteme mit Rohren mit profilierter Wandung zum Ableiten von Abwasser (niedriger und hoher Temperatur) innerhalb von Gebäuden - Weichmacherfreies Polyvinylchlorid (PVC-U) - Teil 1: Anforderungen an Rohre und das Rohrleitungssystem; Deutsche Fassung EN 1453-1:2017 + AC:2017
Overview
This part of EN 1453 specifies the requirements for pipes with profiled walls and smooth pipe surfaces made of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) that are necessary for their use for wastewater pipes in gravity drainage systems for the discharge of wastewater inside buildings. Further applications are - ventilation pipes in connection with sewage systems and - rainwater downpipes inside buildings. Requirements for materials and geometry are specified for PVC-U pipes with profiled walls with inner foamed intermediate layer and with outer solid intermediate layer. Requirements, test parameters and test methods are specified for mechanical and physical properties and for the serviceability of bonded joints and sealing ring joints with fittings made of solid wall pipe. The use of materials other than virgin material is regulated. This standard differs from DIN EN 1453-1:2000-03 as follows: a) normative references have been rendered more precise; b) the Scope has been limited to "inside buildings"; c) the use of fillers has been rendered more precise; d) requirements for the density of pipes have been included; e) the uniaxial tensile test has been included; f) an alternative test method for the degree of gelation according to ISO 18373-1 has been included.
