DIN 14800-19
Fire-fighting equipment for fire-fighting and rescue service vehicles - Part 19: Appliance set for hazardous material
Feuerwehrtechnische Ausrüstung für Feuerwehrfahrzeuge - Teil 19: Gerätesatz Gefahrgut
Overview
The appliance set for hazardous materials serves to protect the environment and provides equipment required to carry out measures in the event of accidents involving hazardous materials - including mineral oils. The measures to be carried out include in particular: - Reconnaissance of A-, B- and C-situations; - Closing off the scene and the hazardous area; - Sealing leaks (gas, liquid and dust); - Collecting, draining, pumping over and binding liquids (for example, flammable liquids, acids, alkalis); - Collecting, draining, picking up solids (for example, aluminum dust, sawdust). The equipment must be supplemented or modified for special situations, for example, when working with substances that require higher explosion protection or resistance requirements. Otherwise, use with the equipment of this appliance set is not possible or only possible to a limited extent. The additional load of the equipment set "hazardous material" in the formerly listed, separate table of the vehicles carrying tools and gears for logistics tasks GW-L1 and GW-L2 according to DIN 14555-21 and DIN 14555-22, respectively, was removed there and transferred to this separate standard DIN 14800-19 and adapted to the current state of the art. This is a reduced load in comparison to the load table (Table 1) of the vehicles carrying tools and gears for hazardous material GW-G according to DIN 14555-12:2015-04. The appliance set for hazardous materials according to this standard is therefore no longer permanently assigned to a specific fire engine type. However, the tasks of transporting smaller quantities of hazardous materials equipment, and thus the tasks of the former vehicles carrying tools and gears for hazardous materials GW-G1, can be performed by the vehicles carrying tools and gears for logistics GW-L1 and GW-L2 according to DIN 14555-21 and DIN 14555-22, respectively, when using the appliance set for hazardous materials GG according to this standard. In this context, reference is made to the hazardous material vehicle GW-G according to DIN 14555-12:2015-04, 6.1 to 6.4, as well as the specifications in DIN 14555-12:2015-04, Annexes A to C. The explosion-proof devices described in this standard are suitable for at least device category 2G, explosion group IIB and temperature class T3. This does not apply to devices for exploration, for which at least category 2G, explosion group IIC and temperature class T4 is intended. In this regard, see DIN 14555-12:2015-04, Annex C. Not all equipment and materials listed in this appliance set for hazardous materials are suitable for use in areas in which a hazardous explosive atmosphere occurs (hazardous area). The Firefighting and Fire Protection Standards Committee (FNFW) NA 031-04-07 AA "Sonstige Fahrzeuge" ("Other vehicles") at DIN is responsible for this standard.
