Overview
This International Standard applies to the safety and essential performance of high intensity therapeutic ultrasound equipment. These special specifications amend and supplement DIN EN 60601-1 (VDE 0750-1):2007-07. It is the first edition of this standard and it addresses the hazards to the operator from ultrasound via the risk management and measurement setups. The conditions for the EMC tests according to DIN EN 60601-1-2 are specified in detail. The responsible committee is DKE/GUK 821.3 "Medizinische Ultraschallgeräte" ("Ultrasonics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
