DIN 25409-8
Remote handling devices for use behind shielding walls - Part 8: Power manipulators - Operating devices - Arrangement and marking

Title (German)

Fernbedienungsgeräte zum Arbeiten hinter Schutzwänden - Teil 8: Kraftmanipulatoren - Bedienteile - Anordnung und Kennzeichnung

Overview

This standard applies to power manipulators as they are preferably used in hot cells. It also applies to lifting appliances in such systems, to mobile carrier systems for electrical master-slave manipulators and fittings for television cameras. Operating devices according to this standard are push buttons, operating devices for individual movements of the manipulator control lever (two to four movements) and actuating devices (six movements). If, for example, there are two force manipulators or no additional parallel manipulators, control units for 7 or 8 movements each as well as control arms or exoskeletons in connection with position controls are used. … The last two types represent a transition form to electrical master-slave manipulators. Types and arrangements of the operating devices, the designation of the movements and the identification of the directions of movement are shown and described. Furthermore, a clear assignment of the movements of the operating devices and the associated movements of the manipulators is established in order to rule out operating errors.
