Overview

This standard applies to the selection and application of bolted joints in the field of rail vehicle. It is intended to support the designer in the basic selection of bolted joints and to familiarize him/her with the necessary systematics and terms and definitions. When designing a bolted joint, all parts of this standard shall be taken into account. In addition to the bolting elements, a bolted joint also includes the components to be connected. This part of the DIN 25201 series of standards specifies the risk classes and categories of bolted joints and provides an overview of the resulting relationships.
