Overview

The DIN EN 6059 series of standard describes test methods for protection sleeves for installation with electrical cables in aircraft. The new edition of Part 100 defines the general test procedures and qualification for protective sleeves made of meta-aramid fibres for cables and cable bundles for aerospace applications. This standard differs from DIN EN 6059-100:2012-03 as follows: a) the scope of application has been defined for protective sleeves made of meta-aramid fibres; b) instead of TR 4684, the document refers to EN 6049-001; c) in Table 4 the test EN 6059-504 and in Table 5 the test EN 6059-602 have been included. The standards of the EN 4608 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Aerospace Standards Committee (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-08 AA "Installationskomponenten" ("Installation components") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
