Overview

This International Standard applies to inserts with insert shapes in accordance with ISO 883 and ISO 6987, tipped with polycrystalline diamond (DP). This standard contains the German translation of the International Standard ISO 16463:2014 which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 29 "Small tools", Subcommittee SC 9 "Tools with defined cutting edges, cutting items". The responsible German body is Working Committee NA 121-01-12 AA "Dreh-und Bohrwerkzeuge mit Wendeschneidplatten aus harten Schneidstoffen" ("Turning- and drilling tools with indexable inserts made of hard cutting materials") at DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS).
