Overview

This Technical Standard specifies a procedure for the determination of metals, in particular antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), nickel (Ni) in natural and man-made textiles, including coated fabrics and garment components (for example buttons, zips, etc.) after extraction with acidic artificial perspiration solution. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 "Textiles and textile products", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German standards committee is Working Committee NA 062-05-12 AA "Textilchemische Prüfverfahren und Fasertrennung" ("Testing methods for separation and chemistry of textile fibres") of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) at DIN.
