DIN 27204-6
State of railway vehicles - Running gear - Part 6: Pneumatic suspension system
Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge - Fahrwerk - Teil 6: Luftfederung
Overview
Wear, failures and other damage affect the operational safety of railway vehicles. Depending on the wear behaviour, the operating parameters and the current state of the railway vehicles as well as the economic efficiency, a maintenance system shall be defined which ensures that the required technical target state is maintained. This standard DIN 27204-6 "State of railway vehicles - Running gear - Part 6: Pneumatic suspension system" has been prepared by Subcommittee NA 087-00-15-04 UA "Running gear" of Working Committee NA 087-00-15 AA "Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge" ("State of railway vehicles") of the DIN Standards Committee Railway (FSF), in coordination with other FSF working committees and the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (DKE). The standards of the overall work "State of railway vehicles" represent a uniform and system-compatible normative work which defines the limit state for safe operation as well as processes for compliance with the target state of railway vehicles of standard gauge. The general scope of this standard is therefore defined in DIN 27200:2011-11 in Clause 1 and Subclause 3.1. All documents of the complete work are listed in DIN 27200 Supplement 1. DIN 27204 "State of railway vehicles - Running gear" consists of: - Part 1: remains open - Part 2: remains open - Part 3: Wheel-set bearings and wheel-set bearing guide (withdrawn) - Part 4: Steel springing - Part 5: Rubber suspension systems - Part 6: Pneumatic suspension system - Part 7: Bogie and equipment - Part 8: Tilting technology (withdrawn) - Part 9: remains open - Part 10: Vehicles without bogies. This standard DIN 27204-6 applies to the pneumatic suspension system. The requirements specified in this standard relate to the pneumatic suspension system and, if applicable, its - individual parts, supports, backings; - air-handling and air-controlling components; - additional volume; - indicating devices. This standard shall apply mutatis mutandis in the case of designs deviating from those specified. Compared to DIN 27204-6:2004-03, the following changes have been made: a) adaptation of the foreword and the scope of application; b) revision of the "normative references"; c) revision of Table 1; d) compliance with the measuring mark heights in pneumatic spring operation and in unpressurized state specified as a requirement; e) bibliography newly included; f) editorial revision.
