Overview
This standard applies to all types of door handle sets for fire and smoke protection doors, in both single and double-leaf swing doors. Door handle sets according to this standard are designed to meet the requirements of DIN EN 1634 (all parts), DIN 4102-5 and DIN 4102-18 as well as DIN 18095-1 and DIN 18095-2. Fittings according to this standard are intended for use with locks according to DIN EN 12209 and DIN 18250. This document will only replace DIN 18273 together with DIN EN 1906. With the publication of the European standard DIN EN 1906, the revision of DIN 18273:1997-12 became necessary in order to avoid double standardization. This document therefore constitutes a residual standard and only applies in conjunction with DIN EN 1906. It does not apply to handlebars and push rods. Door handle fittings which comply with this standard are designed in such a way that the function and protective effect of the fitting are ensured even after prolonged use, provided that they are properly used and are adequately serviced, and that the protective effect of the closure on which they are mounted is ultimately ensured. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-09-47 AA "Türbeschläge (SpA zu CEN/TC 33/WG 4/TG 7)" ("Door furniture (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 33/WG 4/TG 7))" at DIN.
